Surfing reads the same coast differently
In winter, large waves created by winter storms in the North Pacific make Waimea and other North Shore locations such as Banzai Pipeline and Sunset Beach premier surfing locations.

Waimea Bay is recorded at 21.642° N, 158.065° W. A surf map fixes a name to one stretch of moving water, but the place changes with tide, swell direction, wind and the shape of the seabed.
