Winter becomes organised
Further development surged after 1900, in the form of hotels, restaurants, and, in 1911, a local ski club.
THE LIVING MAP
The mapped place
Les Contamines-Montjoie is recorded at 45.818° N, 6.726° E. Its catalogue reference reaches 2,487 metres. A modern resort map compresses terrain, exposure and access into a diagram. This exhibition keeps the underlying contour visible so the place does not become only a list of facilities.
