BEFORE TOURISM
Before the resort map
The linked local overview does not preserve a clear account of La Grave before modern tourism.
This edition leaves that part of the timeline open rather than mistaking the first surviving sporting reference for the beginning of the place.

Winter becomes organised
While La Grave has a small ski resort in Le Chazelet, it is famous for the Vallons de la Meije (1400 m - 3560 m), an unpisted and although patrolled area on the North side of the Massif des Écrins.

THE LIVING MAP
The mapped place
La Grave is recorded at 45.046° N, 6.297° E. Its catalogue reference reaches 3,550 metres. A modern resort map compresses terrain, exposure and access into a diagram. This exhibition keeps the underlying contour visible so the place does not become only a list of facilities.
